DANCER CONDITIONING CLASSES

TASK offers a great cross-training program for young dancers.

Jacqueline Sloan, Senior Director of this program, started Pilates as a dancer in 1982, at the original Pilates studio in New York.

Pilates is a great tool for developing a strong and flexible body; for learning good body mechanics and injury prevention. This class is designed specifically to help dancers strengthen and condition their bodies to help improve their performance and prevent injury.

This is a Pilates-based class, using the unique Pilates-designed V2Max Plus equipment that professional dancers rely on to keep themselves in shape. The first step is to solidify your understanding of core control and examine how your Range of Motion (ROM) affects your spine, hips and shoulder joints. Breathing techniques for stamina and better core control are introduced, as well as stretching and balancing over-worked muscles in the hips and spine.
